The Gamers For Wellness (GFW) Minecraft Server has officially transitioned from Pre-Alpha to Alpha following a successful development period and the acquisition of its third major developer sponsorship, mcMMO, a beloved RPG-style skill progression plugin.
Since its initial launch, the server has undergone numerous updates, introducing new gameplay mechanics, economy systems, and community-driven features, all designed to foster a welcoming and engaging environment for our mission. Now, with the backing of mcMMO, the server is poised to expand further, offering players enhanced RPG elements, skill-based progression, and more interactive gameplay.
What’s New in Alpha?
With the shift to Alpha, players can expect:
✅ mcMMO Integration – Introducing skill leveling, special abilities, and competitive PvE/PvP enhancements.
✅ Expanded Fishing System – Rare fish, weather-based catches, and an upcoming fish shop in Sanctuary.
✅ Improved Economy – Wellness Coins (WC) now fuel land claims, teleports, and player-run shops.
✅ Land Expansion – Increased claim limits (up to 100 chunks) and refined upkeep mechanics.
✅ Daily Rewards & Voting Incentives – Working on new login bonuses and voting perks to boost player engagement.
A Thriving Community Economy
The server’s Wellness Coins (WC) system has evolved into a player-driven marketplace, where teleports, land claims, and shop profits circulate wealth back into the community. Recent adjustments include:
- Land upkeep reduced from 250 WC → 100 WC per chunk.
- New players start with 500 WC to jumpstart their journey.
- Voting rewards (coming soon) to incentivize growth.
What’s Next?
With Alpha now underway, the GFW team is focusing on:
🔹 Finalizing mcMMO’s integration for skill-based gameplay.
🔹 Expanding Sanctuary with more shops, quests, and supporter housing.
🔹 Tournaments & Events – Fishing contests and community builds.
🔹 Bug fixes & optimizations to ensure smooth performance.
“We’re thrilled to enter Alpha with such strong community support,” said Korey, the nonprofit’s CEO. “Our sponsorships, especially mcMMO & Lands, will help us deliver the RPG-depth and economy players have been asking for.”
